Who We Are

BEDI stands for Belonging, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. One of our missions is to create a more welcoming environment in the Public Relations space, starting within our chapter.

Why do we focus on Belonging, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Chapter Community?

We recognize the importance of having a diverse organization across culture, race, gender, religion, and sexuality to ensure all members feel welcome within our organization, as well as to adhere to DePaul’s Vincentian core values of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Human Dignity, and Vincentian Personalism. With greater diversity, we develop a deeper understanding of people with different experiences. With these differences, we want to make DePaul PRSSA feel like a welcoming, safe space for all people interested in learning about public relations, so that PRSSA is not just another student organization; it can feel like a community.

Our Plans

We want to prioritize the “welcoming” aspect of our organization. We plan to do this through initiatives such as, but not limited to, presentations, panels, open conversations, and coffee hours. We want to do what we can to make students from different backgrounds feel like they have a place in DePaul PRSSA.

To further emphasize our initiative of diversity and belonging, we are increasing our efforts to invite people from all majors to join our organization, as public relations is a field that touches all industries.

PRSSA Best Practices

Within the DePaul University PRSSA chapter, we follow all best practices and initiatives established by PRSSA International, including its ethics policies, national initiatives, and mission.
